Chef's House by Raymond Carver
Wes, it's the name of the Edna's husband. In the story he is a recovering alcoholic and only wants to be happy. On page three hundred and one, the word suppose is used very often. Edna talks about how supposedly if they didn't remember their separation, it would be for the better. Edna never out right talks about their past, instead she calls it something. The word house was used casually as well because Edna and Wes describes how the house helps their relationship. I think the words in Chef's House symbolizes a lot in the short story and definitely plays as a huge role.
